In this edition of the competition, participants will have the opportunity to interact with young performers from around the world, gain valuable experience, and receive guidance and evaluation from top industry experts.
We look forward to the outstanding performances of each young pianist, confident that they will bring energetic and creative performances. Let us anticipate together the birth and growth of a new generation of musicians in the 2026 Austrian International Piano Competition.
Open Category
The Open Category is open to all piano enthusiasts, with no restrictions on age or professional level. This category aims to provide a free environment where anyone passionate about piano art can showcase their talent. Whether amateur enthusiasts or future professional performers, the Open Category is an excellent platform to display personal style and musical understanding.
Professional Category
The Professional Category is for pianists with some professional training background. The competition in this category will be more intense, aimed at finding pianists with professional standards and artistic potential. Participants will compete under higher artistic and technical demands, demonstrating their profound understanding of music and exceptional performance skills.
Concerto Group
The Concerto Group is specially designed for young pianists, aiming to discover and nurture young musical talents. In this category, participants will have the opportunity to collaborate with orchestras, performing classic or modern piano concertos. This is not only a test of the young contestants’ skills but also a valuable experience in their career, enhancing their stage presence and musical collaboration abilities.
We look forward to each participant showing their best level in their respective categories, bringing unforgettable musical experiences to the audience. Through this series of events, we hope to inspire more young people’s passion and pursuit of piano art.
